For better shuttlecock durability in Winter, try this: Use Humidome shuttlecock humidifier OR use lukewarm water (90–110°F). Hold the shuttle by the cork with the feathers facing downward, and dip only the feather tips into the water for 2–3 seconds, stopping just before the first thread wrap. Do not shake off the water. Place the shuttle back into the tube and allow it to rest for 24–48 hours before use. This conditioning significantly improves feather durability.
