Parfumerie Trudon is the world’s oldest active candlemaker, founded in 1643. During the reign of King Louis XIV, the Trudon family supplied the Palace of Versailles with candles daily — a craft that today carries over three centuries of tradition and excellence. Every Trudon candle is handcrafted in France, combining authentic raw materials with timeless fragrance compositions ranging from floral and oriental to fresh and aromatic accords.

Cire is Trudon’s most personal and symbolic scented candle — an olfactory portrait of the manufacture itself. Blending the warmth of beeswax absolute with the quiet poetry of a perfume being crafted, Cire is a tribute to Trudon’s founding material and the centuries-old craft that has defined the Maison since 1643.
Bees and beeswax have always been at the heart of Trudon’s identity. The Maison’s historic motto, “Deo regique laborant” — meaning “they work for God and the King” — speaks to the sacred role of the bee since the 17th century. In 2019, Trudon deepened this commitment by partnering with the Perche Nature Park to support the Orne Dark Bee Conservatory. Four percent of all Cire candle sales go directly towards preserving this endangered species.
The fragrance opens with bergamot, waxed wood and honey — a luminous, golden introduction. At the heart, beeswax absolute takes centre stage alongside sandalwood and cinnamon essential oils, creating a rich, resinous warmth. The base of tonka beans, patchouli, musk and vanilla rounds the composition into a deeply comforting and long-lasting finish.

- Burning time: 55 to 60 hours
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations
- Trim the wick to approximately 5 mm before each use for an optimal flame and minimal smoke
- Allow the wax to melt to the edges on the first burn to prevent tunnelling
