Description
The Phyn Plus smart water assistant+ shutoff device is installed similar to a water meter but does not comply with the standard length dimensions of and terminology of water meters. We provide compatible meter couplings or union fittings that fit the threads as well as a spacer if you need to allow for future install or temporary removal for maintenance or repair.
If you have the same type and size of pipe on both sides of your Phyn unit, you will need two of the identical couplings below. If you have different sizes and types of pipe or tubing, you can have a different on on the income and outgoing sides. The swivel fitting in all cases is 1″ NPS (National Pipe Straight) threads and includes the gasket.
All items meet NSF-61 specifications and lead-free plumbing requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Phyn device fits in the 1″ NPS female end (3/4″ AWWA Meter Thread) and Male end fits in 1.25″ NPS (1″ AWWA) female meter swivel nut of a standard 1″ meter couplings.
Phyn Dimension Spacer Bar
- We are now making a spacer flow through bar the same size as the Phyn shutoff device. If you need to pre-plumb before you have the device, or need to take the device out for maintenance or replacement, this tube will replace the same lay length. Spacer is provided with two new gaskets. If plumbing for future install, remember to buy couplings above. Spacer tube is Schedule 80 PVC made in USA.

Phyn smart shutoff valves are 1″ NPS (National Pipe Straight) threads which is equivalent to AWWA (American Water Works Association) 3/4″ water meter threads. This page refers to thread specs in terms of NPS rather than AWWA dimensions to match Phyn recommendations.
