Geologic formations are a cornerstone of Arnold’s work, and this print — based on a National Geographic photograph of calcite columns in a cave in New Mexico — is no exception. Whereas her Crystallized Book series uses such forms as a way to both juxtapose and compare more modern subject matter, like print media, here their contours and otherworldliness alone are the focus.
