Aiming to work simultaneously inside and outside her compositions, Haukaas has created a series of acrylic and acrylic ink on canvas paintings that marry her inspiration with the possibilities — and the limitations — of her materials. Paint cracks, bubbles, and bursts on the surface as a part of a living, intuitive narrative about nature and how it’s perceived through memory.
